Our beloved Stanford Cardinal now stand tall at an impressive 8-1, possibly on the threshold of one of the most memorable Cardinal football seasons of our lifetimes. There is a lot of discussion on our path to the CFP and all the other teams in our path. The fact that we are in the mix at this stage in November makes Saturdays all the more exciting as it seems like we have a rooting interest in almost every game.
Just looking back a short 3 months ago, many if not most of us would have predicted a 9-3 season as the most reasonably optimistic outlook for our 2015 squad with a loaded offense and an unproven defense. Most people would have pegged the USC, Oregon and ND games as our likely losses.
We are now 4 wins away from 12-1. What are our chances of going 4-0 on this home stretch? The biggest advantage is that we are literally at home for these 4 games.
Oregon is looking to be the dangerous team we thought they may be. They would like nothing more than to knock us out of the CFP picture.
Cal is not as threatening but equally dangerous to play spoiler.
If we get through the above 2 unscathed, the ND game will be one for the ages.
Utah - our likely championship game opponent has been a thorn in our sides since they joined the PAC 12
Will the stars align?
Will the football gods smile on us?
Will our team keep their heads through the next 4 weeks of the hype machine, midterms, finals and term papers?
What do the statisticians and the soothsayers among us say?
ROAST THE DUCKS!
GO STANFORD!!
