Interesting that the articles say it's The Zombies' "She's Not There"--I'd always assumed it was Santana's, and now that I've actually listened to The Zombies' version, I'm pretty sure Band plays Santana's version.

The Zombie's version is the original version, created by the band's organist. Santana's is a cover done 13 years later. The Santana band is much larger than the Zombies and uses some brass instruments. It makes sense that the Santana arrangement sounds closer to the one used by the Stanford band. However, the writing credit still goes to the original.

Learn something new every day. Upon pulling up the Youtube clips, it was rather evident that the Zombies were older. But their version didn't include any of the "breakdown" part of the Santana version, which Band incorporates. I would have preferred if they said "the Santana cover of The Zombies'..." but of course they won't do that. I know it matters not one bit what I think, but I will always think of it as Santana's version when played by LSJUMB. 8)Â
