I'm wondering if this is emerging from frustration at getting knocked out early this year. I am guessing he saw anything less than being a finalist this year as a failure.

He had a very disappointing NCAA finals, losing to the 14th seed and 8th seed, thus failing to repeat as an All America. On the other hand he repeated as Pac-12 champion and only lost once prior to the NCAAs, being ranked in the top three nationally most of the year. He also carries a 3.52 GPA which would indicate academic commitment. Hard to say what he is thinking but he has World/Olympic potential so it's not unreasonable that he would be considering coaches and workout partners that he feels are better suited to helping him reach his potential. Schools that have affiliated clubs consisting of world class wrestlers are a big draw.
