So I was leaning toward a very close game, something like 24-27, but then I decided this week I would take my prediction, assume i would be off by 30 points, and then enter that as my prediction.

So if I really wanted to predict Stanford by 3, I have to go either UCLA by 27+ (40-10), or I have to go Stanford by 33+.

Qwerty is referring to the Las Vegas spread, in which Stanford is favored by over a touchdown.  So outside of our little group, there appears to be general optimism about Stanford.  Personally, I'm not convinced it is merited, but I am hopeful that they have seen something that I have not.
