Maybe the all-knowing software should start calling JR "water under the bridge" instead of "the road not taken." But no, we'd still decline to take the hint and would still discuss the what-ifs and why-nots ad nauseum.

I like the idea of changing it to "water under the bridge". Or perhaps "dead horse". That being said, I posted the interview because I thought it was remarkable, regardless of the controversy in his (non)-recruitment.
I like Lex' take. He clearly has immense talent. He may or may not have been a good fit at Stanford; the interview makes it obvious that he is not a generic talented QB. That may rub some people the wrong way, and if you are managing a team, you have to decide whether it would affect the team's chemistry. For what it is worth, I found his answers refreshing, and I think he showed a lot of maturity, self-awareness, and personal growth. If I were recruiting him today, I would want him on my team. But one can easily imagine Rosen's personal trajectory going sideways, so I don't think Shaw was wrong for not recruiting him. I genuinely wish him well, and I will follow his career in the NFL with interest. I hope he succeeds.Â

How about a robust debate whether "water under the bridge" or "water over the dam" is the more appropriate idiom. "Over the dam" makes much more sense, as water over the dam is indeed lost. That said, "under the bridge" is a much more common usage. Hmmmm.
Free Phogge!!!! And no, crimson doesn't refer to the Tide.

Walk along the river, sweet lullaby, it just keeps on flowing,
It don't worry 'bout where it's going, no, no.

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working .I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. Peter Gibbons
