The women lost 2-0 to Florida State, in large part because of a truly awful goalkeeper error by Jahansouz. The result was deserved, but they only led 1-0 when Jahansouz let a ball hit directly at her go right through her hands and deflect into the corner of her goal with about 2 minutes left in the first half.
And then Stanford still played lethargically slow possession ball, against an organized and fast Seminole team. The Cardinal played with very little urgency into the last 10 minutes. Not a good look for Ratcliffe's side. The midfield got completely dominated; the first goal was a player running through two of our midfielders across the top of the box, then beating Girma and pulling the ball back across the face into the lower right corner.
But as I said, I think they could've pulled back a goal. Until Jahansouz's howler.
Oh, and the men don't have much of an answer for Akron's speed, and are down 2-0 at halftime.
Sigh.

One thing that showed - FSU played a player between our midfield and our center backs pretty much the entire night until they got up 2-0. Without the ability to drop the ball back to Girma and Cook, the midfield looked at a loss, and we ended up in a game of dump and chase, trying to hit perfectly weighted 40 yard throughballs, and sending it out over the endline time after time.
They also double and triple-teamed Macario when she had the ball, and no one else was able to step up their game. Xiao had a wide-open look inside the box on the left side and sent it 5 yards wide of the right post.
More later. Too much to watch right now.

Massive momentum change in the men's game. Beason converts a PK drawn by Wehan to draw it to 2-1 in the 57th minute. Striking distance.
Their urgency down 2-0 was a tremendous contrast to the women.
