Turley was also on his way out at that point, and we had 2 assistant S&C coach slots unfilled as well until a couple months ago because same reason as above. Unfortunately IMO there's no way to tell how much each of those contributed to this problem.

Not just football - also women's basketball. In just the last two years, Brittany McPhee, Dijonai Carrington, Lexie Hull, and Maya Dodson have all been felled by lower-body repetitive stress injuries to their feet or ankles that have required them to miss significant chunks of the season.
