I'm too tired and lazy to try to think of what the good things are; can someone please help?
The number of on-campus "slots" have not grown as fast as the demand for them has. Without online classes, many students wouldn't be able access higher education at all, either because there is no room or because they can't afford to relocate to the campus. This is certainly a "benefit" of an all online system. One may rightly question "Is it the same education?", but for the people with no other access, that doesn't matter. In today's workplace, degrees are often required. An education is unfortunately often optional.
Is it possible to get a good education online? Certainly it is. There are even people that are autodidacts. However, I suspect many/most online graduates want the paper more than the knowledge. That is IMHO a problem, as it will becomes the new norm.
