I think some of those tackles were on outlet passes/screens to running backs where Sherman crashed down to participate in the tackle. Those plays made me wonder which DB gets credited with having allowed that catch/yards. Surely Sherman's QB rating allowed wouldn't be negatively impacted because he was the one who tackled the RB coming out of the backfield for a catch.
Yeah, Redstate is clearly trying out arguments to fit his narrative. Richard Sherman is one of the top players of the last decade (the stats back that up) and will be in the HOF. True, in 30 years, a lot of younger players won't know him, but I am sure more people will remember Sherman in 30 years than remember Skip Bayless. Who remembers sports commentators after they retire? You have to be Howard Cossell or George Plimpton level to be still recognized by anyone a decade after you're off the air. And SB is clearly not that.
If the 49ers win a Super Bowl with Sherman as a starter, he will become iconic.
