Here's best wishes to Shane Skov for a complete recovery.  I know all of the players, coaches and fans will  miss his amazing exploits on the field and leadership.  But I'm sure none of us will miss him as much as he will miss playing this season.

My guess also is ACL, although I saw him holding his leg further below the knee than I expected so I wonder if a break is also a possibility

None of this is shocking.

The way Skov left the field, the way he did not stand with crutches in the second half, even the fact that the AD was going to comment on the injury today.  All of that implied season ending injury.  I just hope it is only a season ending injury and that he can recover to eventually play at the highest level in the NFL.

But that is the sport.  Time for the next man to step in and for the rest of the D to step up.

At least the team gets a bye, UCLA, Colorado and then Wazzu to adjust to the new line-up.  This is another example of how the favorable schedule continues to help.  It is very hard to imagine a more favorable 4 week in-conference stretch for this scenario.

I don't think any one player is going to replace Twin Rockets. I wouldn't be surprised if our defense dedicated the season to him.

Very sad to hear for Shayne - I'm sure he was really looking forward to this season and he started out with a bang. He has gotten better and better every year and every game. Hope for full and swift recovery.

Was thrilled with the way the Defense responded. The depth is there and now there will be a lot more playing time - which will lead to development and maturity.

I have a feeling that Vaughters will remain at OLB for the immediate future. It seems to be less complex and require a lot less experience and knowledge than the ILB position. In his current position he gets to contribute, gain experience, and continue to learn. With Jarek Lancaster and AJ Tarpley playing well it will give Vaughters time to learn the ILB position.

Going down with a season-ending injury must be devastating, regardless of circumstances. But to go down when the program has so many hopes and aspirations must be doubly so. Hopefully the rest of the D can rally around Skov and play above their "grade level".
