Good question.    I think any NFL team will be wary of his injury history. Being able to get through a regular college season unscathed will help that. I certainly think he has the arm skills. But I don’t think there has been enough time to get a real grasp of his pocket presence/skills and his mobility.  He is not a dual threat QB.  But I think he has sufficient legs to play at the next level.  He moves better than Goff or Garrapolo, to name a couple.

My biggest concern with him right now was his lack of pocket presence. As parts of the pocket collapse, other parts were safe and he did not identify them and step into them. Sometimes just one or two steps would buy the time the play needs to develop and instead he’d bolt from the pocket. Sometimes he felt jittery.

I like him. Most importantly, I like his toughness — he will stay in the pocket and take a hit to deliver a dagger into the heart of our opponent. A number of dropped balls should have been caught. So I am a big fan of him. But I think he still isn’t where he needs to be.
