Indeed. I think history has shown that the MLB draft is very much a crapshoot, and that exceptional players can emerge from virtually anywhere in the draft. Mike Piazza was famously drafted in the 62nd round of the 1988 MLB draft as a favor to his father by Tommy Lasorda.
I know Bob is hoping he will come back, but it sounds like that's not in the cards. So, thank you for some great memories, a wonderful season on his way out, an best of luck going forward. As you probably can see from the ongoing discussions about Austin Slater in the Giants thread, we keep track of and root for our former players in the Big Leagues, and I will be rooting for Tawa to make it and thrive. Junkie, you have a lot to be proud of.
