Got 'em! Lots of mistakes, yet we still prevailed. Monster game from Brink. Tara said repeatedly she was the difference and how proud of her she is. 
If you would have told me before the game we would get sub-par performances from Lexie and Jones (although she did do a nice job on Berger), I would have thought there would be no way for us to win.  

Not trying to pick on her, but I'm still scratching my head as to why Wilson is getting so many minutes. 2) I thought the Belibi-Brink combo worked very well in the first half, and am not sure why Belibi was hardly seen in the second half.  Very odd. 

3) Jones was not that effective.  Clearly she is not all the way back from whatever injury she had.  Tara used her for offense but sometimes took her out for defense, and when she stayed in, her defense was poor. 

4) Cam may not have been efficient, but it was effective.  I have wondered why we have not used her like this much more often.  The first game really when she was the main focus nearly every possession she was in.  But I agree with others that Cam is learning how NOT to foul.  She was far superior in that regard today.  Maybe she was heavily featured because she was able to limit her fouling.  21 points and 22 rebounds and 5 blocks is terrific, but any featured post HAS to do better than 1/6 free throws.

5) We need the old Lexie back.

6) The team's slumps on three point shooting (3/12) and free throw shooting (8/18)both continue.  Not good.  Let's break those slumps beginning tomorrow.

7) 16 turnovers to Indiana's 7 nearly cost us the game.  A fair number of them were unforced.

The thing that kills me the most about the free throw shooting is that it's the best defense to aggressive, pressing defenses, because they know if they foul you they give away 2. Since we're already not very good at handling pressing defenses, we really need to make our free throws to keep 'em honest.

Cardano-Hillary is one of the toughest point defenders we will face.  She was brilliant in the NCAA tourney last season and instrumental in the Hoosier's win against NC State in the Elite 8.  I thought that Lacie did a pretty good job bringing the ball up the court against her.  She gave up a steal, but that is Cardano's forte.

Lacie outperformed her sister today, but Lexie had an uncharacteristic off-day.

They lift their teammates up and make everyone around them better.

You can see this team finding their way and the coaching staff is figuring out the rotations. This team has it in them to repeat. I would say South Carolina is the favorite right now, especially at their place, but we're going to gain ground throughout the year. If/when we start hitting 3's, lookout.

I was thinking the same thing, Brink's performance seemed very Chiney-like to me.  And we have been waiting for that kind of post player for a very long time.  Alanna Smith may have had high scoring games but she was always a hybrid player who maybe hit a bunch of 3's in addition to her post moves to score a lot of points.  This game was dump it into Brink and the defense could not stop her.  And a lot of the shots she missed seemed very make-able.  She could have scored a lot more.  What I also love about her game that is Chiney-like is the offensive rebounding and the ability to go up quickly with the rebound and score.  We have had a lot of posts in recent years who get the offensive rebound and be very hesitant with the ball.  Kaylee Johnson comes to mind.  Great rebounder but would always dribble the ball out and let the defense reset and we would have to grind and grind in the half court again.

I just saw an ESPN blurb that claims that Brink's 20-20-5-5 was the first by a player vs an AP-ranked opponent in the last 20 seasons.
