I watched the post-game presser. Tara said everyone who was available played, so seems Harriel is still dealing with some sort of injury and presumably Van Gytenbeek is also, or an illness.

I just continue to be impressed by Brink. Aside from Boston at South Carolina, is there another post that has played as well as her to start this season? If she stays healthy, she will be an All American by season's end. We've had several top 20 post recruits and HS McDonalds All Americans in the last 5 years. (Prechtel, Belibi, Dodson, Fingall). For not even being the top recruit in her class, Brink is on another level when she plays to her potential. Her ceiling is so high and she still has areas to improve.

Agreed, and having to bond finde stars in Brink and Jones is super important. You never know when your all-everything player will go down with a non-contact injury in garbage time.

Did anyone notice elements of the old triangle offense sneaking back in to get Brink the ball down low? Pretty sure Pac 12 teams are watching and will figure out a way to body her up so she can't dribble in close. She will have to be able to take those 6 foot jumpers and floaters if they do, or pass out to an open Jump.
I think the Prechtel-to-Brink High-to-Low combo could be very effective.
Anna Wilson had 5 assists in 15 minutes--by far the best such performance on the team.
Demetre looks mortal today. I still think she will have a major impact sometime this season. But not today.
Emma-Nnopu is clearly an elite defender, and if she keeps hitting treys as if she is another Jump, she will have to see more time.

I’d say there’s a few other elite posts outside of Brink.
Mackenzie Holmes at Indiana has been having herself a good season thus far. She dropped 30 points on Ohio State, to go with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Quite the outing from her. I’d say that the elite company includes the likes of Boston, Ayoka Lee, Naz Hillmon, Angel Reese (despite her poor showing against us), and perhaps Elissa Cunane. Ayoka Lee has been a one woman wrecking ball for Kansas State, averaging 24.2 points per game, 11 RPG, and about 4 blocks in a contest. She probably won’t get any national recognition unless Kansas State finds a way to make noise in the Big 12–and we’ll know more about them next week when Oregon visits Manhattan.

A really upbeat and positive presser. But one thing struck me -- Tara mentioned lots of names of players, but we didn't hear Haley's name even once (or did I miss it?). What's up with that? Haley had a good game, not one of her best, but it certainly was good, worth giving her credit for. Another thing of note to me -- Tara's positive comment re Kiki. Liked to hear that.

I don't recall a mention of Jana, nor of Jenna Brown or Harriel. But another interesting bit was hearing Cam say as she was walking away from the table, presser officially over, in response to a question about Azzi Fudd's foot problem that it was a result of her dropping a barbell on her foot. I think I'll go check the Boneyard to see if there's any comment on that!

I agree with 81alum. Haley's game was okay, nothing extraordinary and the focus was rightly on Brink and Lexie, who had better performances in this specific game. I wouldn't read too much into the omission. It would be one thing if Haley had 20 pts on 10/10 shooting and Tara failed to mention her, but 4/9 for 11 pts from one of your top players is an ordinary, and some may argue, below average, game. Nothing to be concerned about, but nothing to make too big of a deal out of either.
