Thankfully, the one we care about did!  Crazy that we are the only one of the top four seeds to make it through.

Auburn pushes Oregon State out of contention.  Stanford is going to have three SEC West teams with them on their side of the CWS bracket:  Arkansas who they'll play in the first game, Auburn, and Ole Miss, who went south to their super regional at Southern Miss and swept the series without giving up a run.

On the other side of the bracket are Notre Dame, and mutual rivals Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M.

So the CWS this year consists of 6 current and future SEC teams plus Stanford and Notre Dame.

I do imagine that our esteem has dropped from lack of quality starting pitching over the last three games :(  Surely we will face hotter bats than UConn in Omaha.  Hope Esquer rights the ship there.

That poll hasn't been updated since before the tournament began ... and of the various rankings out there seems to be the least reliable overall. 

The only major ranking I know that has been updated this week is from Collegiate Baseball. They're also not really reliable as they seem to have automatically made the CWS teams the top 8. That's kind of useful in thinking about the relative merits of the final 8 teams, not at all useful in thinking about whether we really learned anything about the limits of the Tennessee team (or any other team that didn't make the CWS).
