Three current & former Stanford golfers are teeing it up at Muirfield for the Women's Open. This is an important location to host the Open since Muirfield did not have any women members until 2017. I remember being in Scotland in 1995 and my wife wouldn't allow me to play either Muirfield or Royal Troon.

Rose Zhang & Andrea Lee are on the current cutline at +1, while Albane Valenzuela is a stroke behind. Cut comes after Friday's second round

She probably had to decide whether to try to qualify for the Amateur or play in the Open. She got an exemption into the Open by being the #1 ranked amateur in the world. I think she made the right choice. This is the third LPGA major (of five) she's played this year. Amazing.

1. The women's team kicks off the defense of their national title tomorrow at the Carmel Cup @ Pebble Beach. Only 8 teams at this event. The team lost Aline Krauter to graduation but adds two incredibly strong freshmen in Megha Ganne (#13 amateur in the world & low amateur @ 2021 US Women's Open) & Kelly Xu (#177 ranked amateur).

2. Aline Krauter makes her professional debut today at the Dana Open. Krauter was awarded a spot in this event by Coach Walker. The winning team at NCAAs gets an exemption into this event and Coach Walker gave it to Aline. Krauter has also made it past the first of two stages of qualifying for the LPGA.
