LSU is a great team, but they don't have a single win over a current Top 25 team. And unless they beat South Carolina, they aren't going to get one. Even with 4 losses, Stanford likely would have 6 or 7 wins over Top 25 teams. It'd be rough to lose that #1 seed to LSU in that case.
If anyone is interested, LSU plays Georga at 2PM Pacific today on the SEC channel.
The game is on SEC+ , not SEC net. You may be able to get it streaming, but not on cable in bay area.
I think that the SEC+ games are available on SLING a few days after they are played. That seems to be true for the LSU vs Alabama and Arkansas games. I wonder if Mulkey has deliberately avoided facing tough teams until she could develop a strong team, or whether it was just difficult for her to schedule tougher teams to play her at LSU.
We've seen just how fast a team can develop in the current open marketplace and LSU's Mulkey is a prime example. I do agree that she lacks "creds" until she defeats a ranked team. And the rankings don’t always reflect the strongest teams. It seems that there is a built-in bias when you look at how teams like Tennessee were over-ranked in recent years when they didn’t deserve it. Ucon has gotten a bye from time-to-time (although they are stacked with talent this year), and certain players or coaches seem to carry their team upward in the ranking (I’m thinking of Mulkey at LSU and Clark at Iowa).
