Nice first drive. Gulbranson looked mostly pretty comfortable, run blocking solid, Tabb with nice burst.
SJSU Game Thread
Despite the early penalties -- nice march to a touchdown by Field Marshall Gulbranson. 6 for 6 passing.
Very efficient passing against a weak SJST secondary, and easy paydirt for Tabb. 7-0 early.
We should be ranked...

Lots of penalties on both sides. Let’s cut down on the ones we commit. Play smart vs Sparty.

If Stanford can run the ball like they did on the first drive, it will be a victory by 14+.
San Jose State has a pretty talented offense. If you saw the first quarter of their game against Texas, they did really well.
At the end of the day, Stanford is aspiring to be an average P4 team and SJS is hoping to be an average G4 team. What is that difference? Quite large, actually. But we don't know yet how close Stanford is to "average."

So depressing to see Stanford running backs getting three yards a pop against SJState.
I am confident the Stanford defense will show out and eventually more or less bottle up the Spartans.

This is honestly the low point for me as a fan this season. I had high hopes coming into the game that Stanford's offensive line would really show some progress, but they're playing as poorly as any game this year.
I also though the Stanford D would be able to get some pressure against a team, San Jose State, that ranks 63rd in sacks allowed. Apparently, Stanford cannot muster anything there, either.
Honestly, Stanford's best hope today is that San Jose State hands the game over via turnovers, which they are fully capable of doing (No. 129 in fumbles lost, No. 69 in interceptions thrown). But I don't see much hope for the rest of the season.
