It makes me wonder whether my career goals should have been to achieve: Fired Power Conf football coach ?

Good. He should’ve been fired for that tower tragedy while at Notre Dame.
Back in the days when I was on the sidelines, I had a rare occasion to be on the visitor side. Kelly was coaching. Something happened on a kick off that ticked him off. As a player was running off he got in his face and screamed “when are you going to grow a pair.” What a great job of coaching!
One of the true assholes of the sport.

I really wonder about the economics of all this and the apparently bottomless cup of donor money chasing one national title a year among 20 hyper-expensive coaches with massive buyouts.
Think the Virginia model might be the right one. Don't pay the coach an insane amount of money to go away while you rinse and repeat; dump the opportunity cost money into NIL and buy better players.
Elliott makes a pedestrian (these days) $4.4 million per annum with an $11 million buyout this year. Would have been relatively easy to do.

There are a disproportionate number of college football coaches that make me think that there is no justice in this world, and BK is at the top of that list. He should not be anyone's role model.
