Here's a new one. One play with two penalties on the Kal offense and one on the defense. The ref announced all three, then with a big grin said "All of these penalties offset. Replay the down."

You are certainly right about that. And yet, BOTH of the QB's in this game have been touted in various recent threads as being substantially better than Nunes. How can that be?

Coached by prized, or formerly prized, FBS coaches too. Should be a nice reminder to everyone that Coach Shaw is a lot better than many, many expensive coaching options that will be available to Stanford if Shaw decides to leave for the NFL one day. Can't say that watching the game gives me a much better appreciation for Nunes, but at least he seems to have a bit more respect for avoiding turnovers.Â

Holding on kal, personal foul on UW for roughing the passer, intentional grounding on kal. I didn't know it was possible to offset a personal foul aside from another personal foul, but okay...
The announcers said something about kal suffering from a rash of injuries this season--something like 23 players missing at least one game in the season. Isn't that what S&C programs are for? David Lombardi also remarked that "How does Zach Maynard still look like a high schooler physically? Does Cal not have a weightlifting program for its football team?" Late in the game, Maynard left the game with a left knee issue. He was first worked on at the sideline, and then he was taken away by golf card. His replacement, some guy named Bridgford (should we spell it Bridgfurd?), was moderately effective as UW didn't seem to bring as much pass rush late.

I completely agree with you re: #57 (not #50)... All season, he has tricked the officials into calling penalties on the opposition by using a loose fitting helmet. It easily flies off, resulting in a 15 yard penalty on the unsuspecting DLer.Â
I think the refs should let him know that he will be called for the penalty in the future unless he finds a helmet that fits......
