Hey Publius,
I recommend Jiu-Jitsu, especially Gracie Academy Jiu-Jitsu which offers a kids curriculum. I looked into Gracie Jiu-Jitsu a while ago (when I realized that as a middle-aged 5'10" Asian guy, I am due to lose my physical fitness sooner than later). While I didn't have the time to enroll regularly, I was really impressed with Jiu-Jitsu and its practicality for actual fights. When I was younger, I studied Tae Kwon Do which was kind of neat and may be useful while fighting on my feet, but once the fight goes to the ground, I don't know what to do if I can't purely overpower my appointment. (ahem, I meant "opponent" but I'm going to leave that typo in there because it amuses me).
Anyway, my future kids (and maybe my wife and I) will probably be required to enroll in Jiu-Jitsu. Ahh, all my overcompensating for being a scrawny, brainy runt until puberty finally kicked in at 16. Mrs. GoodGrief has already admonished me, "You will not use our future kids to get back at the bullies from your childhood!"
Anyway, have to get back to the tong general meeting. Apparently one of the buffets in Cleveland is acting up. Need to send them a message along with the latest shipment of Shrimp Fried Rice.
