I'm pretty sure that when Rodgers says his name on MNF broadcasts, he says his HS or Butte CC.  iirc several other 59ers do the same thing.

I hope David Shaw is pointing this out to any recruits over whom we happen to be battling kal.

I doubt it, and I hope not.  We are (thankfully) not in a position to have to resort to negative recruiting, and generally, I don't think it would help.  I would rather that Shaw spend the limited amount of time he has with each recruit reiterating Stanford's strengths.

We rarely lose student-athletes or students period to Kal. Kal is just a pesky nemesis.  $C is the archenemy.

For the average fan, it was clearly cause for celebration. For the players he recruited and coached to a lot of wins, my understanding is they were pissed and thought that Tedford had earned more reprieve. Rodgers didn't sign with Ca.l. He signed with Tedford.

Nevertheless, Montgomery came back to make another one of the eye-catching plays he's made throughout camp. During a red zone period, the third-round pick from Stanford made a leaping grab in the end zone on a fade from quarterback Scott Tolzien over cornerback Quinten Rollins.

So far in camp, Montgomery has caught deep balls using his speed, made defenders miss with his quick-twitch change of direction and now flashed his leaping ability.

Montgomery's lack of playing time in a preseason game may be because the staff has seen enough from him and want to concentrate more on who to keep on the depth chart. Just guessing on the reason.
