UA just snatched defeat from victory by blowing a 19 point fourth quarter lead. Last gasp FG attempt goes begging, and Arizona will not play in a bowl this year.

Looks like it may not last (behind 14-10 now), but the only thing that would make me happier than a Pac-12 team knocking ND out of the CFP is us going to the Rose Bowl. Go Trojans.

A&M completes a 25-yard TD to tie game as regulation expires (after A&M pulls off QB spike in less than second to preserve final second of game clock). Game goes 7 OT's (tied for longest game in NCAA football history), with Aggies beating Tigers 74-72. Add to that that LSU had a INT that was overturned in regulation due to the A&M QB's knee being down (and before the overturn, Orgeron actually got the Gatorade bath). This game literally could not have cost the Tigers more, as their remaining playoff and likely NY6 hopes are ended at Kyle Field.

Truly amazing! I’m not sure LSU’s completely out of the NY6 running, even with their 3 losses. The candidates to take their place also have 3 losses, and it seems like LSU may stay ahead of them - PSU, Kentucky, etc.
Wazzu’s place in the NY6 does seem more secure, though. And that means we’re still in the running for the Holiday.

One of those candidates (Florida) beat LSU head-to-head. So that is one team that is definitively ahead of LSU.

That said, I watched a bit of the Colorado-California game and was not that impressed with Cal. The entire first half was a series of Colorado shooting itself repeatedly in the foot and setting up Cal scores. In fact, all of Cal's 24 first half points came off of Colorado turnovers (two pick sixes, a fumble leading to a TD and a fumble leading to a FG -- all deep in Colorado territory). Cal only had one full length drive for a TD, which came in the second half. Otherwise, they were more or less inert on offense with lots of three-and-outs. The Bears had a total of 12 first downs and 211 yards of offense. Colorado had 19 first downs and 318 yards of offense, but 5 turnovers. Yes, credit goes to the Cal defense for forcing some of these turnovers; but Cal is far from a complete team and struggles to move the ball. The key to beating Cal is NOT to give their offense good field position. Those two pick sixes in the first six minutes of play proved to be the difference. Cal is not built to score more than 20 points in a game if the opposing team isn't providing them with short fields. It was the same thing against USC and Washington. If we avoid costly turnovers, I'm convinced we win the battle. If we do what Colorado did, we lose. It's interesting that Colorado still had a shot late in the game despite all the turnovers.
