WTF? If he can’t hold bench him.

My guess is staff still wants to redshirt Herron and is relying on at least 1 of the 2 injured guys coming back within the next couple games. Worst case, Andres can play in 4 games and still preserve his shirt, so assuming we make a bowl we can play Herron next game, play Andres in the last 3, then have both available for the bowl.

I think that sound pretty preposterous. Every video I have ever seen of that action shows the holder placing the ball down and simultaneously rotating the ball until the laces point toward the target. It is usually a smooth action and happens almost every kick. The fact that our holder seems unable to do this has perhaps put the pressure on the center. It certainly seems that it is easier for the holder.

Quote:Many people have asked, “Is it possible to snap a ball and consistently get the laces facing forward?” The simple answer is yes. As an NFL snapper you are asked to be precise not only with your placement of the ball on field goal snaps but you are asked to have the laces facing forward when the holder catches the ball.
Quote:But if you do “miss” it is best if the laces are facing the holder so he can see the laces when he catches the ball and can spin the ball into proper position.
Quote:If the snap is off and the laces are facing backward or to the side the holder must try to get the laces facing forward while still getting the correct lean on the ball. Normally a holder will put the ball down on the spot then try to spin the ball to get the laces facing forward. When a kicker sees the laces as he starts into his kick he can have an “Oh Sh–t” moment and panic a little. No kicker likes to kick the laces. A kicker also does not like to start into his kick and see the ball being turned to the forward position. I call that DJing the ball, like a DJ on the turntable. It can also be a judgement call of the holder whether to spin the ball or not. I have had snaps and the laces were off and the holder did not DJ the ball because they thought that would be too much of a distraction.

Good insight regarding Herron's redshirt. I think they need to try to preserve what they can or it is going to throw the pipeline numbers all out of whack. If Hornibrook and Manley keep playing, which seems likely, that will be 12 burnt shirts, half the class.
However, Andres Fox will only be able to play one more game and redshirt; he's already played in three games. I'll bet they save Andres for the last game if needed for bowl eligibility, or the bowl game if not.

OK. I googled. Obviously, if it is googleable it must be a thing. But even so, if the snapper misses the placement of the laces, the holder MUST make the adjustment. It should happen only very rarely that the laces are not moved out of the way.

Robinson didn't play vs Colorado but should be back for tomorrow. Not that he'd play much anyways, but I heard Peek has been wearing a sling on his arm - can't confirm that though.
KJ, Adebo, Antoine, and Fisk were all hurt in the game.

Robinson is listed on the participation report. Are you sure he did not play? Man, these reports sure are unreliable. They need to employ you to do them!

If Robinson had played, he would've started. Beecher and Pryts started. Yeah, I have no idea what's up with these reports. Every week there's something off!

Probably true, but it also didn't help that Sanborn's kicks weren't going through the end zone like they had been doing in recent games. It was probably due to his injury that he couldn't make nearly every kickoff un-returnable. They said he was questionable right up until game day.
