Looks like it is going to be another the resistible force (our offense) against the moveable object (the OSU defense) game.
We better find a way to put some serious points on the board because I highly doubt our defense is going to be able to stop their offense.
That's what I thought when our #12 ranked rushing offense faced the #11 ranked rushing defense (UW). We all know how that turned out for our rushing offense.

Suspend the coach? What a bunch of whiny milk toast weak-azz bullschitt. That player should apologize to his team and his coach. As a matter of fact, his own players should beat his azz for being a selfish fool.

Though LOL about the bit on “execution”. Of course, the proof will be in the pudding. Does firing four offensive coaches actually fix the offense? Will Frost get Tramac’d next season? Will Ashley find love with Julio (ok, I made that one up, but if you google “Scott Frost Wife”, you turn up some, shall we say, interesting clickbait. Stay tuned for an all new season of “Nebraska Football”.

Let me get this straight… a player losing his cool and getting into it with an opposing player after the whistle = bad. Coach losing his cool and getting into it with one of his own players = fine, because reasons. Way to set an example there, coach, for how to respond to stressful situations. You guys don’t think that how a coach (or parent, or other person of authority) behaves might not impact how players behave? You don’t think players don’t see what their coaches do and learn from it?

In essence, he was breaking up a fight, not creating one.I agree that Lake was breaking up a confrontation initially. Unfortunately it was the subsequent push in the back that has caused the trouble here. That gesture wasn't necessary to break up the confrontation, and was undoubtedly due to Lake's frustration that his team was playing poorly and not behaving as they should.

While the penalty is often called as a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct during the game, the actual penalty for throwing a punch is ejection for the rest of the game (and the first half of the next game if it happened in the second half), so suspending Lake for a game seems appropriate.

While it may be possible to argue that the players involved in a physical game may lose their cool, you can't say that about the coaches. They are supposed to be above the fray making brilliant play calls to overcome the fact the OL can't block and the DL gets pushed back 5 yards on every play. Lake lost his cool. He can't do that. Given his situation, was it understandable? Sure it was. Given what has gone on in the past with coaches, this would have been considered a non-event. Is that OK? No, it isn't. The standard is higher. I actually think Lake would agree.

How many times have we seen full blown brawls on the football field and coaches forcefully pulling players away from the action? I have never heard a coach be criticized for yanking a player away from a brawl. The player had turned his back and was walking away when Lake pushed him in the back. Lake was between the player and the place where the confrontation happened. Even if the player suddenly got mad and turned back toward the confrontation (which was already pretty much over), he would have needed to run over Lake to do so. The push in the back wasn't called for. In reality, it also wasn't much of a push. If it hadn't been on TV it would have gone unnoticed.
