In retrospect, the appointment of Kliavkoff to replace Scott was hardly the remedy it was cracked up to be when it was announced (credited with a total of just more than $1.8 million for a period beginning July 1, 2021, including $1.75 million in base salary, that's a little over $3.6 million). He came from the gaming and entertainment sector, a neophyte when it came to college sports conferences and the political dynamics/history of all the moving parts. Not to mention the quirks, egos and blind-spots of university presidents, some of whom still know nothing about the rough-and-tumble of the territory. Point is, the horses were already out of the barn when he signed on. Gotta think he's making some frantic SOS outreaches at this moment to his former industry. If ever there was a stranger in a strange land, it's this guy. Not unlike the Matt Damon character in The Martian. That he was even considered reveals all you need to know about his lost-in-space betters in the left-coast Ivory Towers. I suspect that USC moneybags were plotting their move not long after they were frog-marched out of Levi's Stadium in December 2015. Yes, THAT long ago. That had to sting.
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
