I really like the way the Warriors are shaping up. Hield can really shoot. He probably wont go 0 for 10 in a playoff game, so...like Klay, but better.  Melton looks like an excellent backup, 26 yrs old, doesn't turn the ball over much. Solid rebounder for a 6'2" guard. I like Kyle Anderson as an alt-Draymond, 6'9", tough on himself and others, had an eye injury last year which probably led to his drop in value this year. He still boards well, doesn't turn over the ball much. Shot 41% from 3 pt range two years ago. Lindy Waters, capable at the end of the bench.

If they get Markkanen and lose Wiggins, the Warriors will be in a happy place.

I'm hopeful that Steph's struggles are related to his highly refined game with tighter parameters for shooting than most players. The NBA basketball has tighter size restrictions than the Olympics basketball. If he's playing with a slightly larger, heavier ball and he's dealing with a nine hour time difference, then it's a little bit understandable. If not, if Father Time has caught up with Steph, well then that's a system-wide problem that no Markkanen can fix.

I thought Tom Tolbert had an interesting perspective on Wiggins, Kuminga, Podziemski, Green and Steph. He said that instinctive basketball players will always have an edge over non-instinctive players. He felt that Curry, Draymond and Podz are all instinctive ballplayers, that they will always be a half-step or more ahead of typical NBA players because of their instincts. He stated that neither Wiggins nor Kuminga are instinctive ballplayers, that their time on court will always be dominated by the need to process where to go and what to do. In short, they can't really anticipate. They can play well, and they have athletic gifts, but the have to be coached into situations where they don't need to anticipate.

Agree with everything you stated. I think that Klay actually went to the one team in the NBA in which he could successfully start, given the surplus of stars who know how to pass. I still think the odds are that Klay breaks down this year and continues to regress badly. After this season, I don't have any confidence that you'll even see vestiges of the old Klay. And without this performance, Steph had scored just 29 points on 35.7% shooting, and 25% on his three pointers in four games against Brazil, South Sudan, Puerto Rico and the first game against Serbia in which he had 11 points.

He is interesting in that he has very narcissistic in his approach to team building/career but quite selfless on the basketball court. I think being a warrior would actually limit any of said issues since it would still be "Steph's team."  This was an issue for KD earlier but he may have grown enough and learned through experience that having it be "your team" isn't all it's cracked up to be. 

FWIW Lebron did raise a ton of money for charity with the decision. And has acknowledged regret for how it came across afterwards. While I don't love everything about him i find it hard to hate Lebron as stars go and certainly wouldn't be against having him as Steph's number 2.

The Warriors paid 62mm to extend Curry's contract through the 2026-2027 season.  I would be interested in y'all's view as to whether this contract is a good value proposition or whether the Warriors should be looking to rebuild by that time.  Regardless, I wish Curry and the Warriors the best (when they're not playing the Lakers).

LeBron certainly didn't do himself any favors with The Decision; I think that turned a lot of people off from him for a number of years.  But once you get past that youthful indiscretion, as another poster mentioned there are a lot of things to like about him.  And he's simply a great player and his records speak for themselves; people can argue how much of an all-time great, but his level of play for 20+ years is impressive.  But as another poster mentioned, danged if I don't find myself ever rooting for him in the NBA; in the late 00s I was a Pistons fan so his Cav teams were going up against the end of that era Pistons in the playoffs; in the early 10s I don't think anyone outside of south Florida wanted the heat to win squat; and during the late 10s even though it was cool he was with the Cavs I was rooting for the Warriors; and same with the Lakers of the 20s.  So while I'm always rooting against him I still think he's a great player and seems like a decent guy.  But as yet even another poster said, he had the unfortunateness (?) to be around the same time as Curry who tics a lot of those boxes without the downside of The Decision and is playing for a Bay Area team, so to this area he was always the "other" when it came playoff time.

This is a lovely attempt to mediate.  You're right of course that few NBA fans would root for a superstar playing for a rival of "their" team.  I certainly never rooted for Larry Bird or Tim Duncan.  My only critique of your position is that you've made it seem like you're just echoing what cardcrimson said above.  But cardcrimson said that he would never want LeBron to be a Warrior because LeBron is "Narcissus in a uni."  As you've said, however, LeBron seems like a decent guy as far as star pro athletes go.  To my knowledge, he hasn't harmed team chemistry anyplace he's been.  He even won a championship with Kyrie Irving, a player who's been toxic on other teams.  I see no reason that LeBron wouldn't be a great fit on the Warriors (or virtually any other team), but I'd be happy if no other team wanted him so he could just remain a Laker until Father Time ultimately wins its battle with him.
