When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.  Okorie got fouled as he shot a 3 pointer trying to tie the game.  The refs, to the surprise of the TV commentators, me, and, I assume everyone watching other than Billiken fans, said the foul came before the shot.  So instead of shooting 3 FTs to tie it, and likely send it into OT, he's shooting 1-and-1.  Okorie makes the first, then after a TO, he misses the second purposely and with precision.  He softly hits the rim to give Giltay @ Rohosy a chance at the rebound.  The 2 big men crossed the lane, giving them great position - that was brilliant by Smith & staff.  Rohosy got the rebound, got it to Benny in the corner, and Benny did his thing.

This is a thread that will lag far behind women's soccer, women's BB, Tavita Pritchard and maybe more - but hey, somebody's gotta do it.

According to every ranking system there is, this will be the most challenging game of the young season for Stanford.  Saint Louis is favored by 2-1/2 points.

Some of you may have watched the Billikens (?!?) in their 1-pt win over Santa Clara (sorry, Mick) and know more about them that I do. The main thing that I have been able to find out is that they seem to be led by #21 Robbie Avila (6'10 240 Sr C) who is their co-leader in scoring with 12.8 ppg.  they have very balanced scoring with 7 players at 8.5 ppg or higher.  Avila also leads the team in assists with 3.0/game and shoots 54% from the field and 56% from 3.

Yep, bummer, SCU had the lead at the half, couldn't hold on. You're not going to win a lot of games shooting 24% from 3 pt. range. At least they're ahead of Minnesota by 28 (66-38) at 13:18 in the 2nd half.  Hope springs eternal.

Watching Stanford come back from 11 down at the half was just extraordinary. Benny Gealer, outstanding. Dent-Smith, 12 points in 21 minutes off the bench, great (could do without the four turnovers, though). Giltay, seven boards in 14 minutes off the bench. St. Louis has an excellent defense, and Stanford broke through. Great game!
