Very ugly game. 14 turnovers on pace to have around 30 for the game. Poor shooting. Just ugly to watch. We are not a third quarter team. Tennessee might start to pull away in the 2nd half. One bright spot, Swain has looked confident and unafraid. Most of the rest of the team, not so much.

Is Nunu going to show up and play like an upperclassman? She's been pretty bad in what I've seen thus far offensively at least.

Actually it’s been the whole team, except Courtney, Hailee and Alex. I do expect a better second half and a win!

Can the Stanford women hold up against a team that plays really aggressive defense the whole game? We shall see, but the initial signs are not encouraging.

Like:

Swain looking like a baller and not like a freshman. 
Alex poised and not looking like a freshman.
Ogden some great pull up jumpers. 

Dislike:
Tennessee's whole style of play. Ugly ball, too physical, messy, messy, messy. On both sides. 
We need to help more bringing up the ball. Some TOs very expected, but we should know better than to let our handler get trapped. 
Reffing feels uneven. Several glaring non calls on our end. 
Need to exploit the press more - we are not moving the ball fast enough or looking to line pass up for open looks.
Somfai seemed to take a hard fall and hasn't come back in since. Hope she's OK?

Still, we have been more poised than I expected - we just need to find the hoop.

Tennessee now is +1 rebounding. That was really our primary edge early.

I have a hard time calling this basketball. Maybe call it uncontrolled chaos. I can’t fault the effort though.

With 4:32 left in the 3rd Q, we've cut the lead to 3 (35-38).  We can beat this team if we just cut down on the turnovers and start hitting some 3s.

Man, when we get a defensive rebound 4 TN players are under the basket.  We need to move the ball down the court faster to take advantage.

We outscore the Vols 23-16 in the 3rd Q to take a 47-44 lead going to the final 10 minutes of play.  Can we finish and get a win over the #19 ranked team?

This is a very winnable game, as unwatchable as it's been. Tennessee looks like one of those high school AAU teams at a Nike "select" tournament, e.g., "Nashville Elite" or "Memphis Power." Tall, athletic, anointed since middle school, and quite awful at team basketball! Somewhere Pat Summitt is not happy.

Agreed, but mostly because MAS is not the answer tonight. And Lepolo isn't either, but thankfully KP seems to have recognized that.

Man I wish Ogden hadn't picked up the two BS fouls. She has really been shaking and baking for us. Love to see her really blossoming these past few games.

Win or lose, I'm feeling proud about how our team is handling this. Our frosh are really showing out, Ogden looks like a different player from last season. We just really need to play smart like you'd THINK Stanford players would be.
