TWENTY WINS!!!
Didn't get to see much of this game, but saw enough. Stanford is playing its best offensive basketball of the season when it matters most, the refs today were a joke, and Kyle Smith is nuts for keeping Rohosy in the game with under three minutes when he's going to get fouled and sent to the line for a one-and-one. Oh yeah, that Okorie guy is pretty good.
Going to look for a replay to try to watch the full game, as I want to see how Thompson put up his impressive statline (15 pts., 6 rebs., 2 assists).
Finally, great job by JDS to sink four absolutely clutch free throws. As fans, we just look at averages and think it's something he absolutely should do, but in the pressure of the moment it's far, far more difficult than it seems. JDS gets my game ball, based on what little of the game I could watch today.
I'm overjoyed with how this season has played out. I'm honestly not even thinking today about the NCAA tournament. Being a bubble team is super exciting, but it means your fate truly is not in your own hands, with potential upsets in the mid-major tournaments and teams you played weeks ago shifting up or down in the rankings. It's just a tremendous credit to Kyle Smith, the full coaching staff and all the players to be in this position after the midseason slump.

Great win! I'm bummed I missed the game. But the 34-11 free throw disparity might have given me an aneurysm, so maybe that was for the best.
If we could've avoided a couple of bad losses (I'm looking at you, Seattle, ND, and UNLV games), we'd be squarely on the bubble for the Tourney. Hopefully next year Smith gets us over the hump.

Give it a few days and it should show up on The ACC's YouTube page. I was pleasantly surprised to see WBB's Clemson game there a few days ago.

He has really become a contributing in all phases of the game. Clutch rebounds and some scoring.

Oof, hope I didn't anger the woofing gods. In my defense, I thought Duke was already done. Boozer is already at 15 points with 13 minutes to go in the second half. I think he'd have to get on the order of 38 points to raise his average a half point.

Rohosy had maybe his best two ACC games today and at ND. Thompson was lightning in a bottle.
And the unofficial final free throw totals in the 8 ACC road games (East Coast; not incl. at Cal): LSJU attempted just 97 FTs in the 8 games; meanwhile its opponents attempted 204. So the per game difference was nearly 13 extra FTs in favor of the host teams . . .

Cal has attempted 202 FTs in their 8 ACC road games, to their opponents' 221.

It's all kind of ridiculous, imo. But I think I will be watching the selection show a week from today.
Here, Stanford is the 4th team out (and a 1 seed in the NIT).
I think that the men are in a similar position to the women's situation last week - although with a NET rating of 59 vs. the women being at 42 going into the ACC tourney. Like the women were, the men: are on a mini-streak; had a victory over a likely NCAA tourney team in the final regular season game; have a first round ACC game that will probably not move the needle much regarding any bracketology; have a potential 2nd round game that, imo,, could get them a spot in the dance (obviously depending on favorable results from other bubble teams); and a potential 3rd round came that, again imo, could come close to securing a spot.
Stanford's best asset in the eyes of the selection committee is the 5 Quad 1 wins. There are only 33 teams that have at least 5 - and Stanford has the lowest NET rating of any of those. Stanford's worst liability is 3 Quad 3 losses - only 1 team with that many is ranked above them in the NET. Adding 2 (or more?) Quad 1 wins to the resume would obviously do a lot to bolster their chances.
As for watching the selection show - if Stanford loses to Pitt, don't bother; if they lose to NC State, a round of golf is probably better use of your time; if they lose to Virginia, have some optimism, but be prepared to be disappointed; if get past Virginia, be ready to book a flight to an NCAA first-round site (or maybe to Dayton - site of the silly "first 4" games.
