I guess it's good to have an another available QB. But I'm a bit skeptical about whether he will ever play meaningful snaps for us. Maybe he could see the field as a change-of-pace guy who can run the option in short yardage situations or something like that?

Actually...and this is assuming there's a season in 2020 (which strikes me as unlikely)...I think this is a big acquisition. Why? Because, as excited as I am about Davis Mills, if he makes it through an entire season without missing significant time due to injury, it will be his first. And, I doubt Shaw breaks with his history of not playing true freshmen QBs (McKee.) That leaves us with West...which is why I'm grateful to have this transfer.

UPDATE: just watched these highlights and I'm pretty excited about this kid. He looks like he could be a Pac-12 starter to me. Granted, these were just highlights but he certainly appears to have some game. He should make a heck of a back-up.
