Ma-Kozyreva is on Court 1. Ma had been up an early break, but Kozyreva broke to level at 3-3 and get it back on serve. Ma just broke back, though, putting her up 4-3.
Yepifanova-Alsola is on Court 2, where Yepifanova is up a double break, leading 5-2 in the first. She'll serve to close that set out next.
And there's the first set for Yepifanova, 6-2! Really high level of play from her so far, and it's exciting to see. But Alsola dropped her first set against Blake 6-1, so perhaps she's a slow starter and still needs to get herself into it.
FYI, Ma's scores are the green on white background, while Yepifanova's are white on green background.
Ma just went from 40-15 up on her serve to a deciding point for Kozyreva and Ma sent a forehand long to drop another service game. 4-4 there. Can she break back again?
She does! Ma leads 5-4 and will serve for the first set next. Can she hold here where it counts?
Yepifanova leads 6-2, 0-2 (she just served up 40-30, but double faulted twice in a row to give Alsola the game--that's the first real service hiccup for Yepifanova, who has otherwise been terrific)
Ma holds for the first set, 6-4!
And Yepifanova responds with a blistering return game to break right back and get the set back on serve. That was outstanding returning. Pouncing on the ball and using angles beautifully.
