You read an awful lot into two simple  sentences.  JH was not hired to go 9-3.  It’s Michigan.  His teams have not played well in key games. I think this is his best shot.  And if they win (and take care of business in the Big 14 Championship game) I have to think they are in the NCS.

If they win out, I believe they are in for sure. An interesting question is what happens if they don't win? JH has been under pressure, but the question is: Who can Michigan find that will be better? IMHO it will be very difficult to hire somebody "better" and very easy to hire somebody who will be worse, especially this year with so many openings at elite (OK, self-proclaimed elite) programs. As unpalatable as it may seem, sticking with JH even if he loses is probably their best bet. Not sure Michigan alums will see it that way though.
