Not too sure why ND didn't just use the 90% run approach. FWIW - The only schools that really insisted on establishing the pass first in the beginning of the season were Oregon and USC, so the DBs were OK back then.
The injuries at all of the skill positions on offense have been tough, but all of that is secondary to the problems with the OL.
Notre Dame was getting 4.6 ypc, which is fine, but compared to what we have given up in the last three games, is a pretty pedestrian running game. On the other hand, they were getting nearly 10 yards per pass attempt. So, a pass first offense made sense.

If the favorites win their conference title games the four should be Georgia/Michigan/Cincinnati/OK State.
I don't think Cincy will do well, but it would be great for a Group of 5 to get in.
We've seen the ND inclusion in the CFP turn into an awful semifinal a couple of times now. They would get crushed by Georgia is ND was the #4 seed.
As I type that I realize how depressing it is that a team I think would lose to Georgia 3-35 or so, just beat Stanford 45-14. The 2016 Rose Bowl feels like a very long time ago right now.
