A couple of other harrowing data points:

1) The Pac-12 will only have 6 teams in the post-season this year: BYU knocked USC out of contention, while UCLA ended Cal's dreams.  So only Utah, ASU and UCLA from the south and Oregon, OSU and WSU from the north will get a bowl bid.  Of course, if all the bowls fail to find teams to play, a 5-7 USC or 5-7 Cal might still get a bid.  One of them will end up at 5-7 because they play each other next Saturday.  

2) As I predicted after Cal disemboweled us last week on our home field, UCLA mauled Cal in the Rose Bowl 42-14.  Let that sink in.  Cal is 4-7, with losses to powerhouses like Nevada, TCU (fired their coach mid season), WSU, Washington and Arizona, but they managed to reclaim the Axe, in Stanford stadium, by a 30 point margin, then lost by 28 to UCLA.  

3) The 55 yards rushing vs. ND drops our season average to 87.3 yards per game.  In total, we barely cracked 1000 yards rushing for the entire year.  Bryce Love had more than twice that many yards in 2017 (the last year Stanford had a positive rushing differential vs. opponents).  Our two top rushers this year (Jones and Peat) did not manage 800 yards together.  

Fair to say we were a doormat in a doormat conference.  Now let's see what Shaw does to right the ship.
