I assume that in this hierarchy, dual indoor/beach players count towards indoor volleyball, and would be “free” to the beach team.  However, it sounds like there might be a carve out for upperclassmen in the beach team, who can be free to the indoor team, which is cool.

Anyway, what I was suggesting was that Stowell isn’t prohibited from playing indoors, just that if she were to play indoors, her scholarship would count towards the indoor limit.

Yes, that's correct.  Sorry I initially missed your point.

I brought up Stowell playing indoors because in my opinion Stanford doesn't have any good passing OHs. Maybe Rubin will fill the bill but in the Under Armour game I felt her front row play was a little underwhelming.

Typically beach players are pretty good passers. If they can't pass, 100% of the serves will come to them.
