Which pitcher struck out five consecutive future Hall of Famers in an All-Star game?  Carl Hubbell.  Who were the Hall of Famers?  In order, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmy Foxx, Al Simmons, and Joe Cronin.  Bill Dickey got a single, then Hubbell struck out his sixth future Hall of Famer, Lefty Gomez.

3. Who hit the first HR for the National League in All-Star competition?  Former Giant was traded to the Cardinals six years earlier.  In the first All Star game in 1933 Frankie Frisch hit a first inning home run for a brief, 1-0 lead.  He only hit 5 HRs that season in 646 plate appearances.  

4. Who was the first NL Manager in an All Star competition?  You're right, John McGraw.  It was interesting because, technically, McGraw was no longer the Giants' manager.  He'd been let go earlier in the season and replaced with Bill Terry.

5. Who was the only NL player who didn't get to play in the first All Star game?  Hal Schumacher, who went 19-12 that season and led the league in fewest hits per nine innings. Bill Terry batted fifth and went 2 for 4.

6. What did these five have in common?  They all had ties to the Giants' franchise.
