On the one hand, this is badass. On the other hand, if you're NATO you have to figure if you give these guys F15s and F16s they might just try and blow up the Kremlin. And they might succeed.

Isn’t this logic in reverse?  NATO refused MiGs because it already knew that Ukraine would attack if given the chance, and Ukraine staged this attack because it already observed that NATO is unwilling to provide lethal aid that Ukraine could use offensively. Just speculation, but it would make sense.
