Putin is only going to do something like this if he thinks aid from the West is the difference between winning and losing.

I think by the time he even considers it as a serious option it would be too late. If he's really losing that badly in Ukraine at some point, I suspect nocking out a Polish city isn't going to be much help for him. Disrupting supply lines is useful, but I'm just not seeing the rationale for taking out an EU city somewhere.
