I’m guessing that this is driven by lawmakers alums of OSU and WSU, who know that they are dead in the water without there bigger brothers. Oregon and Washington aren’t going to be taken anywhere with OSU and WSU, who might have tradition, but are media deadweight.

Lots of good stuff in there from Wilber, who has always been a piss poor sports reporter but a very good sports business reporter. Good description of the impact of two crucial Scott decisions as they pertain to this:
1) a decision to lock the PAC-12 into a 12-year contract
2) a decision to double down on the pac-12 nets instead of letting ESPN run it
