Beach recruit Ruby Sorra continues to represent Canada at the lower level ("Futures") FIVB events. Went 1-1 in pool play, lost in the first elimination round in Ios, Greece. Next week plays in Lecce, Italy.
Closer to home, rising junior Xolani Hodel has teamed with "veteran" beach player Kimberly Hildreth for the AVP Denver event. They had enough points to make the main draw, and won their first match 21-18, 21-17. Senior/Graduate Charlie Ekstrom is also playing in Denver. She and her partner Amy Ozee (Hawaii) had to go through the qualifier. They also won their first round match this morning (13-21, 21-16, 15-13). Their second match should be going on now, but isn't being streamed.
