As all this goes on, don't lose sight of this fact:

There are people who think the athletes shouldn't get paid to play. They could have no better argument to be paid than the latest conference alignment arms races for more football revenue.

I hope when the dust settles, the players say they won't play for the super leagues unless and until they get paid out of all the TV money like the NFL players do. NIL is not even remotely close to enough if the players still are getting none of the money the schools themselves are raking in on their backs.
