There are people who think the athletes shouldn't get paid to play. They could have no better argument to be paid than the latest conference alignment arms races for more football revenue.
I hope when the dust settles, the players say they won't play for the super leagues unless and until they get paid out of all the TV money like the NFL players do. NIL is not even remotely close to enough if the players still are getting none of the money the schools themselves are raking in on their backs.
Add it the $$$ from playing in a bowl game, and better yet the playoffs for the national championship, just like the NFL post season. Oh and just for grins add to this chaos players skipping out on the bowl game and what that does to the TV money.
The way things are going I may only be interested in the games between the services academies, that is four games which means more free time for the sock drawer, shredding of old tax returns and painting the house.
