Oh, wait, he's not in charge anymore you say? Was he in charge when the Pac-12 voted against expanding the CFP? Nope, wasn't on the job then either.
MAYBE, and work with me here, those who oversee the Commissioner are the real reason the Pac-12 has imploded.
Larry Scott made plenty of bad decisions, mostly around the media contract. Why 12 years?!!? Other conferences will have a chance to negotiate new contracts twice before the P12 can cash in again. And we all know the risky decisions he made re: the P12N that did not pan out. All of these combined have helped to put the conference schools in a weaker financial state than they might have been in otherwise.
But I do agree that the P12 presidents have not helped matters by pushing back against every opportunity for change. It will now be forced on them, one way or another.
