The non conference schedule

Just like last season, leading up to the Texas loss; truly disappointing. Not one team to help prepare us for A. Boston and South Carolina.  Prepare to be shell-shocked on Nov. 20.

I think it's a solid non-conference schedule. Shouldn't be surprising that it's not quite as challenging last years. 
Tara made reference to that at one point in the past and said we likely over-scheduled in last years non-conference. I think this is a happy medium. Although, I would have liked to see at least 1 true road game against a top 25 team, which we don't have. We'll get that in conference, however.

Would also note; based on our current roster (and the fact that we have a lot of California and Colorado kids on our roster), we aren't needing at this time to schedule road games in random places to ensure each student athlete has a chance to play a "home" game during their Stanford career in front of their family and friends.  We will in the near future have MN and Arkansas kids on our roster.

I'll use the boxing analogy re. the non-conference schedule.  A good heavyweight fighter easily defeats his first 5 opponents and then finds himself fighting 6'9 heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.  When you look at our first 5 non-conference games, there is not one team with the possible exception of Portland who will give us any kind of challenge before we face South Carolina.  We had the same problem last season before getting punched by Texas.
