Local official of an occupying army has got to be one of the worst jobs on the planet. At least if you’re infantry, you’re allowed to find cover from incoming fire. These officials cannot just hide in a bunker and still do their jobs, so they are out in the open waiting to be assassinated. Of course, given the reality that these officials have a such a short life expectancy, Russia will never be able to govern effectively in occupied Ukraine. This is one of the many reasons that long term exploitive occupation is a bad idea.
