These lyrics have always bothered me, given how clear the answer is from a mathematical perspective. Only bad options, but one (going) results in twice the amount of trouble, so there is only one rational choice from a harm mitigation standpoint. You already know the answer, Mick Jones and Joe Strummer. You need to suck it up and stay.
