For those of you who encouraged me to return to the Cardinal message board, thank you and I'll give it another shot.  This time, I think I'll get more enjoyment is asking questions that I hope might facilitate some good dialogue around a particular issue, so here goes.

Defensively, Cam has had some good moments against South Carolina, but offensively she has not been much of a factor:
2021 National Championship semifinal.  6pts. (on 3/4 shooting), 4rebounds, 6blocks
Dec. 2021 @ South Carolina.                3pts. (on 1/7 shooting), 4rebounds, 2blocks

CURIOUS TO GET YOUR FEEDBACK; How important is it for Cam to become more of an offensive presence on Sunday for us to defeat S. Carolina?  What do you think Cam can do differently to be more of an offensive presence in the game on Sunday?  OR, do you think it matters less about her scoring, but rather good defensive play and staying out of foul trouble, and the offense will come from others?

I think to answer your second question first and it's a common theme with Brink, is to have her stay out of foul trouble. I looked at the game log of both our last two games against South Carolina and she picked up early fouls in both contests. Later on in both games, she picked up two more fouls in relatively quick succession, so it's imperative she limits her fouls as if she can't stay on the floor, she can't contribute to the offense.

I think Staley matches her up against Boston defensively given their height similarities and puts Saxton or Amihere on Iriafen. It will be tough; usually we have the height advantage against most opponents, but not them. Belibi surprisingly had a good game against them last year going 6/9 for 12 points, but otherwise it was Haley and Lexie who were our leading scorers in both games.

With Lexie gone, I think someone else at the 2/3 position might have to step up alongside Haley to get some points. We might need our midrange shots to land as the paint will be difficult with 6'5" Boston and then 6'7" Cardoso off the bench; I am not sure if Betts will be up for defenders near her height with much more collegiate experience yet.

Jump only played three minutes in the national semis, but she was decently effective (3/7 from long range) against them in the second game. Hopefully her great game against Cal Poly will force more defensive attention on her and someone else can step up. 

This is a critical game for Lepolo to show that she can create her own shot/offense as she's not going to get easy passes to her teammates for simple buckets against the overmatched opponents we've faced.

Thanks for the reply.  Agree with you.  Perhaps Cam doesn't have to change her game one bit, except stay on the court.  If she can do that (which may be a challenge), the shots and points will likely come.
