My only issue with Haley’s game is that she seems to try the crossing-under-the basket, behind the back layup way too often, and while she is clearly better at it than most (and it’s very hard to defend when well-executed), it’s not a high percentage shot to begin with. I would love to see her stop-and-pop more often.
Just look at the stats; Haley was 1/13 on field goals in the 2nd half, had a critical missed free throw late, and a critical turnover inbounding the ball late. Let's call a spade a spade; her 2nd half performance was really really bad. I still think she's a tremendous player and talent but this was one of the worst halves of basketball I've seen from her ever. So, i don't know why everyone wants to sugarcoat that and lessen the blame on her shoulders but her 2nd half stats are very telling themselves. I'm sure she was feeling the pressure but she's also a senior and leader on this team and we expect those leaders to rise to the challenge. It didn't happen. The season is not lost and our goals are all still ahead of us. But Haley needs to take this game and use it to better herself.
