We went stagnant and our defense seems to have had problems when its main focus was sitting on the bench.Boston may be the best player in college basketball, but South Carolina still had Final Four level talent on the floor in that 2nd quarter. The ESPNW recruiting rankings of the 5 SC players who played the most minutes in the 2nd quarter were 2, 4, 10, 14 and 47. The 5 Stanford players with the most minutes in the 2nd quarter were ranked 1, 15, 19, 50 and 71. So I'm not sure I agree we "should" have increased our lead in that 2nd quarter. Perhaps if Brink hadn't picked up her 2nd foul 45 seconds after being subbed in. Or maybe if Tara had trusted Betts to play more minutes.
